Saniya is a second-year medical student at Dell Medical School at the University of Texas at Austin. Before moving to Austin, Saniya attended Rice University where she received a B.A. in Sociocultural Anthropology and a minor in Biochemistry and Cell Biology. Health equity has been a constant passion and inspired her desire to be a physician. She spent much time in undergrad volunteering at community health clinics and raising awareness about women's healthcare on-campus. After college, she completed a research fellowship about community health workers in Nepal and an immersion fellowship in a tertiary public hospital in Argentina.
Saniya is passionate about health equity and providing quality, accessible care to underserved populations. In medical school, she is engaged with free clinics, OBGYN research, and social justice advocacy.
